We're proud to announce the world premiere of our new documentary series teaser for Gentlemen Of The World, Ep. 101: Scotland. We realized the stories that happen behind the camera are often more interesting than what happen in front of the camera, so we made our own travel show. We filmed the series back in August 2017 in the northern highlands and islands of Scotland. Production was 10 days long, with an entirely unique, back- and 4th-wall breaking approach where the crew is also the cast. There were 5 crew TOTAL - 4 camera and 1 audio mixer. Each crew was hired for not only their creative capabilities, but equally, their personalities. We booked ZERO accommodations, and there was no script - meaning we had no idea where we were going to sleep, eat, or be every evening. To offset the chaos, we coordinated 4 specific experiences that would immerse us into Scottish culture: the woolen mills at Harris Tweed Hebrides, whisky tour at Talisker, scallop diving off a remote island, and a biodynamic brewery tour and lamb roast.
Additionally, we arranged to have two local chefs join us for a few days to introduce us to the food, culture, landscape, and inappropriate jokes. But other than that, the trip was allowed to unfold as it did and we did our best to keep up with it. This was all done in an attempt to have as pure of a cultural adventure as possible. We believe travel is about adventure and the unknown. Meeting people, learning things, and jumping in with our pants off.
The series was Directed, Filmed, and Produced by Vern Moen, Martín Vielma, Matthew Ryan Ford, and Steve Ryan. The sound mixer is Dave Ross. Music for the Teaser was provided by Jesse Ruppe. We are currently looking for distribution, but in the meantime - enjoy the teaser!
